CONSTITUTION PARTY OF NEW JERSEY CALLS FOR VETO OF S2139

Citing Governor Christie's campaign declaration that he is pro-life, the Constitution Party of New Jersey has called on the governor to veto S2139, the Women's Health and Family Services bill.  If allowed to pass, the bill will grant nearly $7.5 million to family planning services in the state of New Jersey.  Among the facilities that would gain the taxpayer monies, a majority of them are owned and operated by Planned Parenthood, the nation's top abortion and contraceptive provider.

After being passed in the Statehouse, the governor has allowed S2139 to sit on his desk, telling the media that he is still considering the measure.  However, once it sits for 45-days it automatically becomes law regardless if the governor signs it or not.  The Constitution Party of New Jersey supports the veto of this bill and any other bill that gives taxpayer money to the state's and country's largest abortion provider.  Planned Parenthood also uses their funding to print sexually explicit booklets for minors, urging them to invoke their "right to sex" and urge women to donate their aborted babies to medical research.  These actions, among others, remove the dignity inherent in every human being and the Constitution Party of New Jersey asks the governor to take a stand and veto this bill immediately.

Supporters of this bill have declared that no taxpayer money will go to abortions.  However, the national offices of Planned Parenthood cannot account for over $2 billion in funds.  Jason Edwards, the CPNJ Communications Director, said, "With so much money being untraceable, can any of us be convinced that taxpayer dollars are not going to be used for abortion services?"
